Fossilized fashion and social sparkle. Dutch Bronze Age bracelets in context

This contribution deals with the bronze bracelets found in Netherlands that are datable between Late Neolithic and Middle Iron Age (n=176). We study their context (hoards, funerary contexts, settlements stray finds), we relate specifics of form decoration to regional supraregional traditions. First, role as social signifiers (in reconstructions) prehistoric identities across those scales, discussing how particular Bronze ‘costumes’ or ‘ornament sets’ may have been kept from graves deposited alternate ways. Then, later arm-rings for potential indicate scale, orientation longevity contact networks into which communities were integrated.
